F***ing brilliant. SO reminiscent of older Newgrounds which makes meee very happy <3

JasonKyo12 responds:

thankyou very much :-)

I didn't know I wanted this but.... I did. I so did.

So, so great to see Newgrounds sense of humour is still very much alive and kicking.

Thank you so much.

Inside jokes = Inside out

Go Newgrounds.com!!!!

A perfect critique of a game that aspires to have grand depth of plot and character, but is really all about tits and blowing up monsters.

You masterfully took the piss. Thank you.

hinca responds:

hahaha thanks man!!

Aww this flash was very cute and charming. I don't think that this advice is particularly useful or relatable, but I'm not sure that it was meant to be taken seriously. It seemed to me to be a lot more like a very clever way to get inside your character's head and tell the story from their point of view. A introverted, cynical character who likes to see the world as a survival guide, making notes in his head. Wonderful storytelling.

CartoonCoffee responds:

Thanks, I hope no one took this as advice haha. It's just a story, I suppose people will take different things from this, which I think is awesome! But, I didn't attend for this to be advice. You are right about it being a way for the viewer to get deeper into the character's head.

Thanks for the comment!

I completely lost it at "Helloo my children!" I have always loved your work, but this is the best thing I have seen since... my god this killed me.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

cheers.

I didn't like this. There were so many things you didn't think of. And you didn't make the atmosphere comedic enough to allow for all the obvious plotholes. It would have been nice to hear the bird from the bird sound effect being shot for extra humour. I didn't understand why the area directly around the oasis was just as dry and parched looking as the rest of the land. By no stretch of the imagination can cannon balls create holes that large. I also don't understand how the man expected to buy any more bullets of cannon balls if he really is the only human around for miles. These things probably wouldn't have bothered me if the general feel of the animation had been less... realistic. You employed a lot of classic cartoon humour effects but they weren't enough to overpower an atmosphere that was more suited to a more realistic piece of comedy. I have to admit I'm not quite sure why the atmosphere was so off. I also didn't feel the characters were developed enough. The turtle wasn't really cute or clever enough for me to like him/her and I felt like the man should have been either more obviously heartless and evil (more dead animals, references to him being part of a society that created the desert in the first place, even more obviously evil attributes such as enjoying killing the bug) or you should have made him less evil and more pathetic and scared of losing his oasis. Either way that would have made the punchline much funnier in my opinion.
That said I am not criticising your animation or art skills as i am no authority on that respect.

Courageousturnip responds:

Wow that's quite a thorough review! This was my first stab at 3D animation, so I wanted to keep the story pretty short to avoid getting myself into technical problems. If you're a stickler for loopholes, I can see how this movie might upset you :)

'twas a funny flash indeed. Well executed. Loved the background music. Voice acting could have been better, but still did the job.

Gerkinman responds:

Ive never been known for my voice acting ha ha, but I find it fun. Thanks for the review :)

You obviously haven't watched very much of PewDiePie's content, and if you have, you have either failed to notice a lot of things, or you are intentionally ignoring a lot in order to make crude, hurtful jokes. Your cynicism is quite upsetting. I admit that I am a bit of a fan of PewDie, so I am mildly biased, and I do also know that part of this was intended for Tobuscus, iJustine, etc. And although I think that what you are twying to say here has some realistic connection to their actions, that doesn't make it right. And for gods sake, if you were going to take the piss out of a Youtuber, why the firetruck did you pick PewDiePie? Seriously, why? I say this not because I am a fan (okay, maybe a little bit) but because I think I can safely say that PewDie is one of the most humble, genuine people on Youtube. I tried to see truth in your satire, but I really couldn't. "Time to make a gaming channel!" - PewDie IS a gaming Youtuber! Yes, maybe that joke was intended for Tobuscus, but then why didn't you make him the scapegoat? I can think of so many Youtubers who are more deserving than PewDie of this (in my opinion) disgusting piece of work. But I don't think any Youtuber fully deserves this.

I want to say a lot more about how wrong this flash is, and how much it upset me, because I am fairly sure I could back those claims up with evidence, but I think I should cut top my point. If you are going to kick the shit out of someone (metaphorically speaking), for fucks sake back yourself up. Research your victim before you accuse them. I admit, you did have a nice piece of evidence at the end there, but that by no means justifies the whole thing. Why the hell did you feel compelled to throw shit at PewDie in such a vulgar, unintelligent manner?

2 stars for animating.

Speedo responds:

I didn't make Tobuscus the scapegoat for that joke because this "lols@Holocaust" guy is a personified collection of ALL these guys and it just so happens he takes alot of traits from PewDiePie seeing as it is mainly intended as a PewDiePie parody. And I do have plenty of "evidence" for the jokes I made. The Happy Wheels thing. Again, that's not JUST a jab at Pewdie, keep in mind. Every time I see a new vblogger making a faggy gaming channel, they always, ALWAYS fucking play Happy Wheels. I've used this metaphor so many times, but they're just pissing in a pool of piss. They all play the same games and react the same ways and I don't think most people (including myself, obvs) understand why these type of vids still get so many views.

And yeah, that last piece of evidence is the most valuable I have, really adds to the opening scene about the google adsense money thing. Good on him if he happens to give some of the money he makes to charity, but it sure as hell didn't come across that way with his little "extra views gimme extra money lololololol" comment. In fact, I think whoever he was replying to, he should of just said "extra views will allow me to donate more money to these charities" because not only would it be (the apparent) truth, but would also come across a HELL of a lot less snarky. Makes him sound like a total barrel.

Ugghh - I hate how this always happens!

Some awesome, talented individuals work their arses off and create an awesome promo for an upcoming series. It's always, slick, well-made and obviously well fueled by enthusiasm. But for some reason their always kind of... lame. I don't know why, whenever there's a big production like this, it always makes me cringe... there are examples but dammit I can't remember their names. The only exception from this is T.O.M.E. - maybe because it was based off of a series made by on person that wasn't trying to look cool or modern. And even that (I feel) is in danger of becoming boring if the characters aren't developed more.

This has the same problems - flat characters, flat jokes, and a flat storyline. But like the others, it has so much potential. Maybe the problem lies in trying too hard. trying too hard to look cool, to impress the audience, and missing the point - just go where your heart takes you - use a storyline and joke that YOU like - not ones that you think the audience will find appealing. That way it will seem less... flaccid.

Nevertheless I look forward to the upcoming shorts. I'm sorry if I've been to harsh - feel free to criticise - I hope you prove me wrong in future!

Good Luck! :)

NewEdenseries responds:

Hey there. Thanks for taking the time to review New Eden. We always welcome input and hope you dig the shorts a bit more than the pilot.

The first short is now up. Check out 'Mating Call' and let us know what you think:

You reeeeeaaaalllllyyyy don't like the education system, don't you?

Pahgawk responds:

Actually I quite like school. It's just that it's harder to make an interesting story when there is little conflict.
